5 Reasons Why Jack Reacher is Smokin' Hot
Like most people, I am a huge fan of the Mission Impossible franchise and yeah, it's because of Tom Cruise for the most part. So when I heard about this new movie starring him, I didn't even have second thoughts. I dragged my sister to the theaters and watched.
So without further ado, here are the 5 Reasons Why Jack Reacher is Smokin' Hot.
- Tom Cruise is Jack Reacher. I mean seriously, need I say more? Tom Cruise is simply the epitome of manliness and quite frankly, any movie with him in it will be so freakin' hot you can bake a freakin' cheesecake on it! He is incredibly perfect for the role and I really think he pulled it off. It kind of reminded me of his character in Minority Report with all the conspiracy stuff only this time, he's way, way hotter. Oh God! Please make me stop with the word "hot" already!
- The plot is deliciously unpredictable. I used the word "deliciously" not only to refer to Tom Cruise's topless moment in the movie but also to the story itself. It's not your everyday conspiracy movie where you'll know in the first half hour who killed who and why. The whole time I was watching, I kept guessing and in the end, none of my guesses were right and that's a plus for me especially for thrillers like this one.
- The dialogue is easy to understand. The movie has lawyers and mobsters for its characters so technical words would've been excused but I like how the movie did away with that. Although there are some difficult words here and there, it didn't affect the overall simplicity of the lines.
- It has precious "eureka moments". This is what I've always loved about thrillers - the scene where the protagonist finally pieces the puzzle together and I'll be like, "GENIUS!" in my head so as not to disturb other people who are watching. I don't exactly know why but I bet you do too. Jack Reacher isn't exactly full of those moments but it has an awesome twist in the end. I won't spoil it for you. Just watch it.
- And last but not the least, the action part is not mainstream. Of course we always expect action movies to be awesomely violent but not Jack Reacher. There are fight scenes, gunshots and shit but after the movie, you'll realize that there wasn't enough action. Surprisingly, I kinda liked that about the movie because I think it's not really going for the "more action and less brilliance" type deal but the other way around. Besides, I think we've already had enough of Tom Cruise's death defying stunts in the Mission Impossible franchise. It's time for something intelligently gorgeous.
So there. Congratulations to everyone and of course to the director Christopher McQuarrie. I sincerely pray that this isn't going to be Tom Cruise's last.
